Known for her “timeless caramel-smooth vocals” (The Deli Magazine), Brooklyn-based vocalist Hattie Simon is a fixture in the New York creative music scene. She is affiliated with a wide range of NYC artists, appearing on records by ZENG, Alison Shearer, Horace Phillips, Goose Bolton, and others.

 

With deep roots in jazz and improvised music, Hattie is at home across a wide variety of musical settings. She is commonly praised for her ability to compose “in the moment”, delivering inventive, spontaneous melodies with razor-sharp precision. Untethered by genre, her work encompasses classic and modern jazz, neo-soul, indie-pop, and countless other styles.

 

A devoted songwriter and recording artist, Hattie co-leads DREAMPHONE with producer Sebastian Zel. This emerging “dreamwave’ duo began to turn heads with the 2021 release of their debut EP Softer, quickly garnering a following in the Brooklyn indie community.

 

Hattie has performed across the U.S. and abroad, appearing at National Sawdust, Elsewhere, Knitting Factory, Bruno Walter Auditorium, Cezanne Jazz Club, Bern Jazz Festival, and others.
